Wonderful Thank you's!

Hello from the great state of Indiana! We are in the midst of seeing our bulb flowers bloom—one of my favorite times of the year! We received several thank you notes this month so I’ll get right to them. The first is from Pam: “I have enjoyed wearing the cap I received at the Mayo Clinic. It has kept me warm during this long cold winter!”

“On behalf of all the children and families we serve at the Homeless Children’s Network, thank you for your generous and thoughtful donation of hand knitted caps made in March 2011. We strive to break the cycle of homelessness by providing relevant, effective mental health and family support services to homeless children and their families of San Francisco County. Your contribution is deeply appreciated.”—Elisabeth Walter, Program Assistant.

“I wanted to personally thank you for the winter cap I received from your organization. It has kept my head warm this winter. Thank you for your time and dedication to our Veterans.” Matthew Veil, former US Army Infantry.
This handwritten note from a child is precious: “Dear Sick People, Please take this mummy and buy that mterell that you can make hats so you can poot them on thar hed. I am sanding you 2 dollars. I hop your hair grws back. Love, Faith.” (2 dollar bills were enclosed in her letter)
We also received a thank from the IU Health Goshen Center for Cancer Care in Goshen IN.
Of course, we don't do it for the thanks received, but it is nice to know our caps are useful and a blessing to people. As Summer approaches, please consider making turbans that are light weight if you are a sewer. If you are not a sewer, your efforts are still appreciated!
Cap guidelines:
• Made in a smoke-free/ pet-free environment.
• Colorful
• New, soft yarn only!

We meet the 4th Monday night of each month, 6:00-8:00pm, 1st United Methodist Church, 325 W. Washington St, Bluffton IN.

Next meetings: April 25; May 23; June 27.
